Hey Saiddit (March 2023) - V

Hey Saiddit. I’m a long time lurker, so this is my first time posting. I didn't know who else to tell this to, but I'm not sure what to think of the letter I got today.

For reference, I (15M) just moved into a new state with my mom, and it's July 25th. We picked up the letter today that was dated a few days ago. Stamped in official-looking ink, had my name and address, a weird postage stamp, the works. Issue was my mom's car broke down so we couldn't pick up the mail until today because it's too far to walk. I don't know many people in the area yet, but I feel like someone could be fucking with me? I don't know, maybe it's some kind of hazing? See what I'd fall for??

Anyways, I'm stalling. Here's the letter, word for word:

Hello. For those of us sending you this message from [REDACTED], it is currently the year 4724. There isn't much time, but we beg of you to read this fully.
In three days from the time you get this (July 20th at 6:36AM) you must go to the cafe in Jacksbury. Go inside and speak with Thomas, an old man with gray hair and green eyes. Tell him that he must prevent Dr. Halibut from getting on train 26A, at all costs. Please, carry out this task for everyone's sake. Without him, we are doomed.

I mean come on, that's crazy, right? I was going to throw it away, but I decided against it when I saw the articles on the news tab. That boat crashed a few hours before we got the mail.

I don't know. It's creeping me out. Do I go to the police with it? How did they know the boat was going to crash 5 days before? How did they know about this ‘Dr. Halibut’ guy being on the boat and his death? Should I be worried??
